Studies of Positive Radical Acceleration on Mice

Abstract
A total of 191 normal adult male and female mice, ranging in weight from 17 to 30 grams, were exposed to relatively large positive acceleration. The behavior, the 100¡Æo survival curve, the 100 %fatal curve, the dangerous zone, the mortality, sexual differences in the resistance and the effects of anti-g suits (by water) were examined on mice.
An electric centrifuge was used for centrifuging the animal. The centrifuge, with an arm radius of 16 cm, attained a maximum acceleration of 320 g within twenty seconds. Speed of rotation was held constant within 2 per cent as measured by a RPM contact tachometer.
